My First solo Shoot






I’d been Pigeon Shooting with friends before and really enjoyed it, learning about decoy patterns, hide building and why you should always bring your gloves in cold weather. Then, all of a sudden I had an opportunity to go out by myself. I considered my first solo trip to be a disaster really but I learned so much more by myself mainly by trial and error – something we all have to go through.

Hide Building






You don’t need a Degree to build a hide. Most of us have built dens in the woods and have seen Andy Crow’s excellent demos of basic hide building on YouTube, allowing us to come with our own take on what it should look like. More challenging conditions require more creativity and it’s also good to be aware of some of the every-day pitfalls to avoid. Here’s some of my tips but always remember we’re all learning and it’s a sad day when you don’t learn something new.
